AI trading journal
An AI trading journal that answers from your own trades.
EdgeBook AI reads your trades, notes, and chart screenshots and answers inside the app. The EdgeBook MCP server connects the same journal to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and VS Code, so you can log a trade from the chat you already have open.
Illustrative example. EdgeBook is a journaling tool. EdgeBook AI analyzes the trades you've logged and does not give investment advice. Its output can be inaccurate, so check it against your journal before you rely on it. EdgeBook is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer.
Ask questions of your own journal.
EdgeBook AI is an assistant inside the app. It searches your trades and notes, reads your chart screenshots, and answers from what you logged.
It also answers questions about how to use EdgeBook, and it can prepare edits such as creating a saved view or updating a trade. It reads only your journal and what other traders share with you: trades, setups, saved views, and comments.
- Opens with
- ⌘J on a Mac or Ctrl+J on Windows, from any page.
- By default
- Every edit waits as a card until you approve it with one click.
- Automatic mode
- Most edits apply right away. Deletions and bulk edits still ask first.
- Editing off
- EdgeBook AI reads and answers, and makes no changes to your journal.
Questions to try
- “Which setups did I rate five stars this month?”
- “What did I write about my last three losing trades?”
- “Make a saved view of every long I tagged Early.”
- “How do I add my own review stage?”
Your journal inside Claude and ChatGPT.
EdgeBook runs a remote MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI apps to outside tools, so any app that supports it can work in your journal once you sign in.
Add EdgeBook as a custom connector in Claude, Cursor, VS Code, or another MCP app, sign in with your EdgeBook account, and approve the permissions it asks for. There is no API key to copy.
Read the setup guide for the server address and the steps for each app.
What an agent can do in your journal
- Log a trade from your notes. It can draft the fields from what you wrote before it saves the trade.
- Attach a chart screenshot through a one-time upload link, or from a TradingView snapshot link.
- Look up your trades and setups.
- Read and reply to comments.
ChatGPT needs developer mode for custom connectors, and what it allows depends on your ChatGPT plan. The conversation runs on your AI app's own plan. Two optional tools, drafting a trade from notes and reading a chart screenshot, use a small amount of your EdgeBook AI allowance.
Connect your AI app in four steps.
A sign-in, not an API key. After that, your journal is a set of tools your AI app can call.
-
Add a custom connector
In Claude, Cursor, VS Code, or ChatGPT developer mode, add EdgeBook as a custom MCP connector. The setup guide has the server address and the steps for each app.
-
Sign in with EdgeBook
Your AI app opens an EdgeBook sign-in page. Use the account you journal with. EdgeBook does not issue or ask for a separate API key.
-
Approve the permissions
The approval screen names the app and lists the permissions it is asking for. Nothing connects until you approve.
-
Ask in plain language
Try “log this trade from my notes”, “pull up my last five /ES trades”, or “what did my mentor say on the NVDA trade?”
Your journal, your decisions.
No investment advice
EdgeBook AI analyzes the trades you've already logged. It is built to decline requests to pick trades, predict prices, or size a position, and trading decisions stay yours. It can make mistakes, so check any number, date, or statistic against your journal before you rely on it.
EdgeBook is a journaling tool and is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer.
A monthly allowance
Every plan includes a monthly EdgeBook AI allowance. It resets each month, and unused allowance does not roll over. A long question that searches many trades uses more of it than a short one, and Settings shows how much you have used and the date it resets.
If you use it all, EdgeBook AI pauses until the reset. Your journal and the rest of EdgeBook keep working as normal.

What is an AI trading journal?
A trading journal with an assistant that can read what you logged. In EdgeBook that means two things: EdgeBook AI, which searches your trades, notes, and chart screenshots inside the app, and an MCP server that lets AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT log and look up trades for you. Both work on your own journal, and neither gives investment advice.
Can I use EdgeBook with Claude?
Yes. Add EdgeBook as a custom connector in Claude, sign in with your EdgeBook account, and approve the permissions it asks for. Claude can then log a trade from your notes, attach a chart screenshot through a one-time upload link, look up your trades and setups, and read and reply to comments. The setup guide at docs.edgebook.io has the steps.
Does EdgeBook work with ChatGPT?
Yes, on ChatGPT plans with developer mode. ChatGPT needs developer mode for custom connectors, and what it allows depends on your ChatGPT plan, so check the setup guide for the current details. Cursor, VS Code, and other apps that support MCP connect the same way.
Do I need an API key to connect an AI app?
No. Your AI app opens an EdgeBook sign-in page and an approval screen that lists the permissions it is asking for. Once you approve, the app works in your journal with those permissions. There is no API key to copy.
What does using EdgeBook from an AI app cost?
The conversation runs on your AI app's own plan. Two optional tools, drafting a trade from notes and reading a chart screenshot, use a small amount of your monthly EdgeBook AI allowance.
Can EdgeBook AI change my journal without asking?
Not by default. Each edit waits as a card until you approve it with one click. In Settings you can switch to automatic mode, where most edits apply right away and deletions and bulk edits still ask first, or turn editing off.
Does EdgeBook AI give investment advice?
No.
How much EdgeBook AI use is included?
Every plan includes a monthly EdgeBook AI allowance. It resets each month, and unused allowance does not roll over. A long question that searches many trades uses more of it than a short one, and Settings shows how much you have used and the date it resets. If you use it all, EdgeBook AI pauses until the reset. Your journal and the rest of EdgeBook keep working as normal.
