01 The folder

Every trader has the folder.

Hundreds of screenshots named by timestamp. The setup that worked in March is in there, next to the three that didn't. Nobody opens it, so the pattern never gets learned.

EdgeBook opens the folder. Drop a screenshot in and it becomes a trade card with a symbol, a direction, a setup, a rating, and a note. Find it again by any of them, in seconds, with the chart in front of you.

  • Search by setup, symbol, tag, result, rating, or date.
  • Review on a schedule, with the actual chart, not a spreadsheet row.
02 How it works

Five minutes to the first card. A career to fill the playbook.

The loop is deliberately small: capture, tag, link, review. Small enough to do after every session. Big enough to change what you trade next quarter.

  1. 01

    Drop in the screenshot.

Drag any chart from TradingView or your broker onto the app and a trade is created around it. Attach more images, reorder them, caption them. Work in a grid, a table, or a Kanban board.

  2. 02

Tag the setup. Grade the execution.

Seven built-in tag groups: Market Structure, Volatility, Session, Entry Quality, Exit Quality, Psychology, Mistakes. Add your own. Rate it one to five and write the note while you still remember why.

  3. 03

Link it to the model you traded.

Every setup lives in your Model Playbook with entry rules and a checklist of Required, Bonus, and Dealbreaker items. Link the trade to its setup and the setup starts keeping score.

  4. 04

Study the charts of traders who've done it.

Trader Packs are annotated chart collections from experienced traders. Import the setups, study the entries, and keep your own notes on every chart alongside your trades.

  5. 05

Review it. Then let someone else.

Move trades through Draft, Ready, In Review, and Reviewed. Send a link to a mentor or your group: they comment without an account, and Discord, Slack, and X unfurl the chart.

04 EdgeBook AI

Ask your journal a question.

EdgeBook AI reads your trades, notes, and screenshots. Ask which setups you rated highest this month, what you wrote about the last three losers, or how to build a saved view, and it answers from your own journal.

When it suggests a change, it stages the edit and waits. You approve with one click, or don't.

Finally, a journal I actually use. Uploading screenshots and filtering by tags means I can pull any past trade in seconds.

The chart bookmarks are brilliant. I've linked all my setups to actual trade results. Now I know which patterns really work for me.

Clean UI, fast upload, and the tagging system is super intuitive. This is what I wished every other trading journal was.

The real improvement doesn't come from the actual day; it comes from the review process and practices. My real workday begins when the market closes. That's when the learning happens.

If you want to master a setup, you'll need to find hundreds, if not thousands, of charts with that setup and study them.

You cannot take yourself seriously as a trader if you do not journal. To me, this would be like a football player not lifting weights.

06 Why it exists

Built by a trader who lost the signal in his own screenshots.

I've been trading for over thirteen years. For most of them, my best charts lived in unlabeled folders and random Google Drive buckets, named by timestamp. When I wanted to revisit a setup I spent more time hunting than learning.

The push came from hearing Kristjan Qullamaggie describe the journal he built for himself: hundreds of examples of one setup, studied until it was obvious. EdgeBook is that journal, built so the capture takes seconds and the review actually happens.

08 Questions

Things traders ask first.

Anything else, email Alex. A human answers.

What is EdgeBook?

EdgeBook is a chart-first trading journal. Instead of starting from broker data, it starts from the chart screenshots you already take. You drop a screenshot in, tag the setup, grade the execution, write the note, and link the trade to the model in your playbook. Everything is searchable, and the playbook keeps score of which setups work.

How is EdgeBook different from Tradervue or TraderSync?

Most journals are built around P&L imported from a broker. EdgeBook is built around the chart. You drag and drop screenshots, tag them across seven built-in tag groups plus your own, build a Model Playbook of your setups with checklists and example charts, and review trades on a Kanban board with the actual chart in front of you. The review is visual and repeatable, which is why traders keep doing it.

What does “chart-first” mean?

A chart-first journal treats the chart screenshot as the primary record of a trade. You upload the image from TradingView or your broker, then add tags, notes, rating, and trade details around it. That matches how most discretionary traders think about their trades: through the chart they saw, not a row of numbers.

How do Chart Bookmarks work?

Chart Bookmarks are the reference library for each setup. When you find a textbook example of a pattern you trade, you save it as a bookmark with notes and tags. Bookmarks attach to setups in your Model Playbook, so when the same shape shows up live you have your own examples open, and over time you can see which setups your bookmarks and your trades agree on.

What tagging system does EdgeBook use?

EdgeBook ships with seven built-in tag groups: Market Structure, Volatility, Session, Entry Quality, Exit Quality, Psychology, and Mistakes. You can add unlimited custom tags and groups. Tags combine with filters for status, symbol, setup, result, direction, rating, and date range, so you can answer questions like “show me every pre-market breakout where I followed my rules” in a couple of clicks.

Is EdgeBook free to use?

EdgeBook is a paid product with one feature set and two billing options: $33 per month, or $299 per year (about $24.92 per month billed annually). Both include every feature, 5GB of chart storage, and the ability to cancel anytime.

What is the Model Playbook?

The Model Playbook is where your setups live. Each setup has entry rules, a checklist with Required, Bonus, and Dealbreaker items, example charts, and notes. When you link a trade to the setup it came from, the setup starts keeping score. Over time you can see which setups produce results and which ones to cut, turning a pile of screenshots into a playbook with evidence behind it.

How do you actually use it day-to-day?

During or after the session you screenshot the chart and drop it into EdgeBook, which creates a trade. You tag the setup, rate the execution, and write the note while you still remember why you took it. Then, on whatever cadence you choose, you move trades through the review board (Draft, Ready, In Review, Reviewed), grade them against the setup's checklist, and bookmark the ones worth studying. EdgeBook AI can search the journal for you along the way.

What does EdgeBook AI do?

EdgeBook AI is an assistant that works inside your journal. It searches your trades, notes, and screenshots, answers questions about how to use the app, and can stage edits such as creating a saved view or updating a trade, which you approve with one click. It is included with every plan.

Who is EdgeBook built for?

Active discretionary traders who take chart screenshots as part of their process: day traders, swing traders, and futures traders across stocks, options, futures, and crypto. If you screenshot charts from TradingView or your broker and want a structured way to review them, it is built for you.

The next good trade is already in your screenshots.
